Comfort is the enemy of growth

Desert Soul

Combining one of my favourite photo’s from recent mission and some lyrics from my current fav album from The Rend Collective Experiment. The song is called Desert Soul.

Promises are important

It’s important that I do what I promise when I promise, too often have a vowed something, that is then almost forgotten in the next breath.

God’s promises are not just important but true.

Today I choose to hold on to his truth and promises for my life and instead of waiting for them to happen I walk into his promises, one step at a time.

Paper People by Harry Baker

Harry performed this on saturday at yws12, it was great but I had no idea of the story behind it.  Head over to youtube where he posted this and gives some background on the poem. Creative and deep.

Hope calls into question the present reality

I Will not die

This is so beautiful…

I will not die an unlived life
I will not live in fear of falling or catching fire
I choose to inhabit my days
To allow my living to open me
To make me less afraid, more accessible.
To loosen my heart
Until it becomes
A wing, a torch, a promise.
I choose to risk my significance
To live so that which came to me as seed
Goes to the next as blossom
And that which came to me as blossom
Goes on as fruit.

I saw this in a local shop, it made me giggle and then these thoughts and questions.

Am I stocked with truth, like to the extent that if someone came looking, or someone came into my sphere of influence they would find truth.

Because the bible says…

Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free - John 8:32

I want my friends, family, community to live free.  So am I living, breathing…leaking truth in every circumstance, conversation that I have?

These are great thoughts and questions to ask going into a new week.

Are you stocked with truth?

Morning Sun It feels like it’s been a long time coming but at last the sun is here, hope it sticks around.

Start your day with Thank You

Ok so when is this coming to the uk?

Whoa (Taken with instagram)

As I head into a busy week, and further into a busy season this devotional is timely, I hope it is for you too.

You’ve got the words to change a nation (this generation is not for sale)…

In 2006 the then CEO of MTV said this in an interview;

“we don’t’ advertise to this generation, we own this generation”

That kind of thing get’s me all riled up.

This generation is not for sale!

They are the generation that has words,(Emile Sande- Read All About It) pictures, songs, creativity, inspiration and solutions to not only change a nation but to bring change into all the world!

So let’s call time on MTV and others like them trying to buy our kids.

At Amplify Sunday night, while we were worshipping I had the words of The Vision buzzing round my head, here are just some of the phrases that I picked out.

The vision is an army of young people…

You see bones? I see an army. And they are FREE from materialism….

Light flickers from every secret motive, every private conversation. It loves people away from their suicide leaps, their Satan games. This is an army that will lay down its life for the cause. A million times a day its soldiers

choose to lose that they might one day win the great ‘Well done’ of faithful sons and daughters.

Such heroes are as radical on Monday morning as Sunday night. They don’t need fame from names. Instead they grin quietly upwards and hear the crowds chanting again and again: “COME ON!”

And this is the sound of the underground The whisper of history in the making Foundations shaking Revolutionaries dreaming once again Mystery is scheming in whispers Conspiracy is breathing… This is the sound of the underground…

come on…Come on…Come on…COME on…COME ON…COME ON… COME ON…COME ON!

as long as I’m something, he (Jesus) cannot be all

simply beautiful…

Flash mob in the Copenhagen Metro. Copenhagen Phil playing Peer Gynt. (by CPHPHIL)

Really liked this - not just the idea of music ob the metro, but the choice of music; the timing; the faces of fellow-passengers. There’s a great moment at 0:46 where a young guy takes out his ipod earphones to listen better… great image.
